7. This moronic article makes me ashamed to be (a) a woman on the internet, (b) a woman, generally, and (c) a reader of the New York Times Style Section.
(”FOR two days last week, many of the men’s bathrooms at the Westin St. Francis Hotel here were turned into women’s bathrooms. The stalls on the second floor were lined with note cards featuring nurturing messages like ‘You are perfect.’”)
6. Widespread lack of awareness that food bloggers have feelings, too: “Ewwww, meatloaf cupcakes; OMG everybody vote on whether or not these are repulsive!!!”

I went right home and made those meatloaf cupcakes, except I made real mashed potatoes. They were excellent in every way. They are actually the only thing I’ve seen on your blog that I went right home and made.the diplomat added this comment on July 29 2008 at 1:11 pm
Well, I read below the photos and I can see how you would be completely distracted from all forms of cooking with your new mini-toys. They are darling. But be not discouraged, a book deal sounds like a very good thing. Happy writing to you.Melanie added this comment on July 29 2008 at 1:41 pm

I think you run an excellent food blog and the problem with most food blogs is most food bloggers lack food expertise and you bring that and a fresh perspective on food. At the very least, show us more minatures.
I’m a freakin’ vegetarian and I still made your meatloaf cupcakes, I thought they were so awesome. I agree with you on every other point, except I don’t (yet) have a collection of miniatures. I do have a collection of toy anatomical models, does that count?rach added this comment on July 29 2008 at 7:50 pm
Your blog is varied and eclectic, just simply unusual. Keep going!!!LoMaTze added this comment on July 30 2008 at 4:35 am
I love the meatloaf cupcakes, too. It’s on my “to try” list for this fall/winter when I’m back to using the oven. And I always read below the photos, too. And AWESOME news about a book proposal! Whoo hoo!Amanda added this comment on July 30 2008 at 6:03 am
Whew…I was starting to wonder if you were having oven troubles again. I read all your posts, then find myself returning to old posts to show others, like the the Doraemon latte one.AppetiteforChina added this comment on July 30 2008 at 8:47 am
Ok peeps, now I feel petulant and silly. Esp. since I blogged a new post approximately 45 minutes after writing this one.Michele Humes added this comment on July 30 2008 at 8:48 am
Please reserve congratulations until I have actually finished the book proposal. I was just telling yall what I’ve been doing instead of blogging!
Rach! I have a miniature anatomical model, too. I gave it to the boyfriend for Christmas, one of those presents you really want for yourself, you know? Here is Detachable-Organ Man inspecting a box of Pierre Herme tarts; a closeup of the tarts themselves; a stomach and a slice of Re-Ment pie.
FYI - EEEEdiots like the fools who responded with disdain andor disgust to the meatloaf cupcakes are obvy not foodies and probs have eating disorders. I am not one of those philistines.sybann added this comment on July 31 2008 at 2:42 pm

Anyway, I have to add that my husband is NOT a foodie and has serious issues with a number of foods–but when he saw those meat cupcakes he danced around begging me to make them!
The meatloaf cupcakes were how I found your blog. I loved it so much that I subscribed on my rss feed right away. Don’t be disheartened. For every unimaginative person who can’t get behind meatloaf cupcakes there are just as many of us that love them.Kat added this comment on August 02 2008 at 5:23 pm
