Oh, no! What a friggin nightmare--I hate relying on other people. They're so... so... UNreliable!

Hopefully you have an electric grill to make up those lovely asparagus before they become too flaccid.

Basically, I am really upset because I had the Best Idea Ever for 4th of July cupcakes and, for obvious reasons, was unable to make them. I was going to bake 50 mini cupcakes, frost them white, and then decorate each one with a two-letter abbreviated state name, in red, blue or purple frosting according to political leaning. Maybe I can still do this on election night.

Whole chicken ceviche sounds awesome! Unfortunately I will not be able to make it over for dinner because I left the water running at my apartment. Please don't eat your pet bunny either. It is not a desperate situation, you just need to be extra extra creative. And maybe have an extra glass of wine.

Cece: unfortunately, no amount of creativity can turn a whole chicken into a meal without heat. I would not be complaining quite so much if I didn't already have a bunch of groceries in the fridge. On the bright side, I managed to get an appointment for this Monday. Thanks for the encouragement, though.

Zenchef: thank you, and I think your blog is beautiful.

CK: how does ceviche of whole chicken sound to you?

greeneggsandlamb: nice tip...for my tips (ha, sorry).

McAuliflower: Raw Food month? I would sooner eat my pet bunny.

oh no! also: i love your blog. to save the asparagus, just fill like a rocks or pint glass with some water (like two inches) and then put the little guys in there feet first and then into the fridge. in a few hours, you should see them regain form and firmness. just don't leave them too long.

That sucks. Sorry. Looks like you will be making a lot of beautiful, cold salads in the coming weeks. And you can always tackle ceviche! Good luck!
